Brief
BB Studio project to create immersive multicultural festivals.
Creative Process
Within the Digital Catapult Accelerator BB Studio realized this project using the 5G testbed to develop a distributable webgl immersive experience for accessibility and inclusivity to cater for variety of devices and demographics for global engagement.
A rich immersive social web experience which complements the secular Bangladeshi festival of unity - Pahela Baishakh. This is usually celebrated at the London the Brick Lane Festival attracting up to 60000 visitors and in Bangladesh it is celebrated by a population of 163 million people during its new year festivities. In fact Bangladesh alone has approximately 4 festivals a month so around 36 a year.
Festivals and large gatherings are a vital aspect of community life for many cultures around the world celebrating local food, music, craft, dressing up, boosting the creative and hospitality industries. Most of all it’s a time for friends and family to share stories and socialise.
This was the basis for the first of its kind Immersive Magazine celebrating Culture, Fashion and Art of different Diaspora.
